St. Mark Catholic High School is privileged to have its own Chapel. The Chapel is the focus of the spiritual character of the school and is used for private prayer and class liturgical celebrations. Our Chapel is a warm, peaceful refuge where students, staff, and parents are invited to pray, reflect, and rejoice.

Chaplaincy Department

Our school's current Chaplaincy Leader is Father Zenon Hentosz.

Our school community and every student and staff member have gifts for the building up of this community. As part of the community, the chaplain works closely with others in the school to assist in the general education of students within a spiritual framework. Celebration and service, two key elements of the spiritual life, are integral to the life of our Catholic school. The chaplain, in conjunction with students and staff, assists in the animation of these areas. The chaplain is available to both the students and staff through retreats and spiritual counselling.

Board Spiritual Theme

Seek Justice

Year One (2018-2019 school year)

The first year will focus on social justice to introduce Catholic social teaching as a lens for learning throughout the curriculum.

Through faith, we are called to justice and through justice, we are called to faith. We find the call to justice throughout scripture. The Good News that we proclaim is liberty to captives, hope to those in poverty, freedom to those in oppression, and sight to the blind.

Love Kindness & Mercy

Year Two (2019-2020 school year)

The second year will focus on healthy relationships and family.

God is love. This concept can never be explored fully, and yet, it is the culmination of the hope of humanity. The discernment of this year can be on good friendships, avoiding all that can hinder healthy community. This will be meaningful to both staff and students.

Walk Humbly with God

Year Three (2020-2021 school year)

The third year will promote humility and an awareness of our need for God’s mercy and love in our lives.

We are called to live an authentic faith, close to our God in lifelong discovery leading to transformation. This depth of awareness enhances our personal wellness and encourages us to participate in God’s restorative justice.
