Ottawa Public Health will be on site Monday, September 22nd , and Tuesday, September 23rd, to provide vaccinations for our Grade 7 students.
All students in Grade 7 (students born in 2013), have received a package from their homeroom teacher with the consent form for the hepatitis B, human papillomavirus (HPV) and meningococcal disease vaccines.
Key Information
These vaccines are publicly funded, so no payment is needed. Please speak with your child about the vaccines. You and your child need to sign the consent form for each vaccine that you want your child to get.
Even if you do not want your child vaccinated, fill out the consent form indicating “No” for all vaccines you do not wish your child to receive.
Preparation
On vaccination day, please eat a good breakfast, bring an extra juice or snack to school, wear short sleeves or a loose shirt so that the upper arm can be exposed easily, without undressing, bring a mask to wear in the clinic, and bring the consent form to school.
Any student who did not receive their vaccines during this session must get their vaccines by October 27 with a community partner to be eligible to receive their second round in the spring.
